Donate to our food pantry

Clean out your pantry, pick up a few extra food items while you are at the grocery store, or host a food drive. Bring your donation to HCHC, or call us, and we’ll come pick it up.

Check out our needed items list for the most-requested foods!

Sign up for HCHC’s “Adopt-An-Item” program, a way to ensure the most requested, or needed items, are made available to clients of the food pantry on a consistent monthly basis. Giving options are available for every budget!

 

Buy a T-Shirt

Buy a T-shirt for $10 and support our patients in their goal of living healthy lifestyles. T-Shirts are available at our clinic.

 

 

 

 

Volunteer your time

Become an HCHC volunteer.

HCHC’s volunteers are the heart of the organization, and we believe in a well-rounded experience for our volunteers.  Our volunteers work closely with all staff  to complete tasks that will make our clinic a safe, clean and friendly medical home for our patients.

Become a food pantry volunteer.

In the HCHC food pantry, volunteers can directly help meet the needs of community members. Food pantry volunteers show their dedication to serve others by committing to volunteer one Saturday morning of each month. Volunteers help create a welcoming atmosphere while assisting clients in choosing healthy meals for their families.

Become a Resource Specialist for the HCHC Food Pantry.

As a holistic primary care clinic, we want to ensure that the needs of our clients are being met. Our food pantry clients often express the need for additional resources, including transportation, housing, medical care, or spiritual care. As a Resource Specialist, you will help connect food pantry clients to various resources in the community in the effort to continue to meet all the needs of HCHC clients.

Americorps Volunteers for HCHCBecome an AmeriCorps member at HCHC.

Being an AmeriCorps member is a full-time job. The Americorps members at HCHC are the young, aspiring health professionals of tomorrow. HCHC provides training to AmeriCorps members who then use the skills and experiences acquired to richly impact the lives of individuals who are the most under-served in Lawrence and in Douglas County. The Corporation for National and Community Service has funded a renewable request from Heartland Community Health Center for placement of up to nine AmeriCorps members in health coaching positions in the clinic.

Lawrence GiveBack

HCHC is one of Lawrence GiveBack’s charitable organizations. By registering your card to give back to Heartland Community Health Center then shopping at Checkers or eating at local restaurants, a portion of your bill will be donated to HCHC. You can support us by just doing what you do in a normal day! By using your GiveBack card, you will also earn rebates which are redeemable at all participating merchants.
