Rosetta, Jean and Linda, members of Lawrence Wesleyan Church, knew years ago that they wanted to serve and be a part of a mission greater than themselves. These ladies have been committed to serving their church, their families, and various community organizations. Thanks to a partnership between Lawrence Wesleyan Church and Heartland Community Health Center, these three ladies found a service opportunity that they are truly passionate about – serving families who are facing food insecurity in our community.

For more than 5 years, Rosetta, Jean and Linda have committed to serving in the Heartland Food Pantry once a week. After first learning about the whole-person medical care offered at Heartland and touring the medical clinic themselves, they knew they wanted to be champions for the cause. Their commitment has allowed them the opportunity to build authentic relationships with families and see their lives be transformed over the years. When asked, they will share that for them transformation is seeing lives changed or witnessing first-hand how this assistance program empowers people to take control and want to better manage their health and their lives.

Even after years of serving in the church and at the Heartland food pantry, these ladies will tell you that their compassion for others continues to grow and that they are excited to see the organization grow to serve more families in our community.
