Heartland Community Health Center and Dobski & Associates are thrilled to announce the capital investment to transform the existing Anderson Rental property on West 6th Street into the new location of the community health center. Alcove Development plans to begin construction in the fall of 2020 with a target move in date of fall of 2021.

“Today we celebrate the future of health care in our community,” said Robyn Coventon, Heartland CEO. “It takes an entire network of committed and passionate leaders to design a model of care that supports providers, staff, and most importantly patients to become healthier. We are overwhelmed and full of gratitude by the investment from the Dobski family to support our mission to provide health care for all. We are confident that this investment will greatly impact how health care is delivered and accessed in our community.” Coventon went on to say, “This is a wonderful investment that will allow Heartland to expand its reach and increase access to health services. Heartland not only provides high-quality and affordable health care for everyone in our community, but we also give insured patients the opportunity to financially support patients without insurance. A patient who uses their health insurance at Heartland helps to keep costs low for everyone. This new facility will allow Heartland the physical space to be the provider of choice for our community.”

“This is an opportunity for all of us to work together to offer a first-class health facility for the general public of Lawrence. We cannot wait until the ribbon cutting!’, said Tom Dobski of Dobski & Associates. “We are making this investment to help a lot of people; we also want to participate in their long-term exciting future.” Heartland served more than 7,200 patients and had more than 29,000 encounters in 2019 and ranks in the top quartile of all health centers in the nation for the quality measures for asthma treatment, tobacco screening & treatment, ischemic vascular disease treatment, placement of child teeth sealants, and depression screening & treatment. Heartland remains grateful for the support of our patients, partners, staff, and community for allowing us to grow and serve in Kansas.
