Public Health Clinic Closed Until Monday Due To COVID-19
Lawrence Douglas County Public Health announced today they have closed their clinic located at 200 Maine Street Suite B. in Lawrence Kansas, due to COVID-19 transmission among their clinic staff. While all of their staff are vaccinated and follow strict safety protcols, including distancing and masking at all times within the clinic space, they are still at a high risk of exposure every day.
Tests conducted yesterday discovered new positive COVID-19 cases among their clinic staff. According to their press release, LDCPH staff have contracted COVID-19 previously, but never to the extent where it would be considered an outbreak.
For the safety of their clients, they are closing the entire clinic immediately, so that their staff can recover in isolation, and the clinic space can be properly cleaned. The clinic plans to reopen on Monday 5/2/22.
