New Mask Guidelines at Heartland & Panda Pediatrics
Dear Patients,
We are writing to share some important news with you. As you may be aware, the use of masks has been an essential tool in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past few months, we have seen encouraging progress in controlling the spread of the virus and have received guidance from our area and national healthcare partners. As a result, we have made the decision to make masking optional at Heartland Community Health Center as of Wednesday, March 15th.
While we will no longer require masks to be worn by staff, patients, or visitors, if a patient requests their care team wear a mask, we will do so. Please inform the front desk staff if you would like a fully masked appointment. Additionally, we strongly encourage those who have not yet been vaccinated or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or any other respiratory infection to continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing to protect themselves and those around them. If a patient presents with upper respiratory symptoms and/or fever, Heartland staff reserve the right to request the patient wear a mask while in the building.
Please be assured that we take the health and safety of our patients and staff very seriously, and we will continue to follow all other infection control protocols, such as frequent hand washing, disinfecting high-touch surfaces, and screening for COVID-19 symptoms.
We understand that this may be a relief for some, while others may feel apprehensive about the change. We ask for your understanding as we navigate this transition. Thank you for choosing Heartland and Heartland at Panda Pediatrics for your family’s healthcare needs. We look forward to providing you with the highest quality of care in a safe and welcoming environment.
Sincerely,

Lisa Russell DNP, NP-C
Chief Clinical Officer
Heartland Community Health Center
