Through a partnership with Douglas County Community Foundation, Heartland established a fund designed to help patients overcome barriers to care and provide patients what they need, when they need it.
The Compassionate Care Fund helps Heartland provide potentially life-saving health care completely free-of-charge for families who are experiencing hardship or low income.
Over the past 5 years, Heartland has provided $8,967,397 in discounted care and $907,168 in uncompensated care.
Thanks to the generous supporters of the Compassionate Care Fund, Heartland can completely cover the cost of services including extended treatments, and prescription medication.

Since its inception, the Kansas Half Marathon has helped offset costs and increase access to affordable health care services for those that are uninsured/underserved in Douglas County, and beyond.
