At Heartland Community Health Center, we believe no one should have to choose between their health and feeding their family or paying rent. We strive to ensure that all people in Douglas County have access to the care they need, at a cost they can afford.
Through a partnership with Douglas County Community Foundation, Heartland established a fund designed to help patients overcome barriers to care and provide patients what they need, when they need it.
The Compassionate Care Fund helps Heartland provide potentially life-saving health care completely free-of-charge for families who are experiencing hardship or low income. Over the past 5 years, Heartland has provided $8,967,397 in discounted care and $907,168 in uncompensated care. Thanks to the generous supporters of the Compassionate Care Fund, Heartland can completely cover the cost of services including extended treatments, and prescription medication.
You can give the gift of health care for our neighbors living in Douglas County. Support the Compassionate Care Fund.
Heartland Community Health Center plans to break ground on an 8,000 square foot building located directly east of the Heartland’s current building at 1312 W 6th Street.
The building includes designated spaces for a variety of services including Indvidual therapy, play therapy, and psychiatric care suites and a multipurpose room for group therapy and other programing hosted by Heartland. The building will provide a trauma informed space that embodies the organization’s mission to welcome all who need care.
Heartland is calling on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and philanthropic organizations to support the Building Bright Futures campaign. All donations will directly fund the construction and operation of the Behavioral Health Building, making a tangible impact on the mental health of the Douglas County community.
