Open Enrollment is here! Now is your opportunity to secure the health insurance coverage you need, make changes to your existing plan, or explore new affordable options. 

Medicaid: What You Need to Know

Unlike other insurance options, Medicaid does not follow a set Open Enrollment period. However, if you’re currently enrolled with Aetna, you can make changes to your coverage during open enrollment. At this time, you’ll have the option to switch to Healthy Blue or another Managed Care Organization (MCO) if you choose. Additionally, Medicaid members can typically change their plan once a year when notified by their program.

Medicare: New Changes for 2025

If you’re a Medicare beneficiary, this Open Enrollment period is an important time to review your plan. Changes for 2025 include a $2,000 cap on prescription drug costs covered under your plan. Additionally, if you earn less than $25,000 annually, you may qualify for the Extra Help program, which reduces out-of-pocket costs for prescription medications.

Health Insurance Marketplace/ Affordable Care Act

For those exploring private insurance options, the Health Insurance Marketplace is open from November 1 through January 16. The insurance eligibility specialists at Heartland can assist you with:
